The I.D.E.A Association
The I.D.E.A (Interdisciplinary Development through Education and Art) Association relies on genuine community participation to create development projects that aim to impact structures within local communities. We do this to increase the health of individuals, families, and communities. The following comprise our five main activities:
Fundraising, Public Space Creation, Cultural Events, Participatory Project Design and Monitoring and Evaluation.
Make your Sustainability Commitment Today!
The I.D.E.A. Association is collecting 350 "actions" from people that represent their idea of sustainability, we will then write a press release to help celebrate the idea that 350 people committed some tangible action to take place in Kalamazoo in support of the 350 movement. The 350 Movement is a worldwide initiative to get CO2 levels down to 350 ppm in order to stabilize ecosystems currently out of balance.
Individual Action Commitments are things such as: car pooling, not smoking, ride your bike around town instead of driving a car, don't eat meat for one day a week, open the blinds for natural light instead of flipping a switch, watch an hour less of TV each week, use re-usable water bottles instead of buying plastic water bottles at the store... "wash clothes in cold water", "weatherizing homes", "open windows - NO AC!", "clean a road", "create a symbolic piece of art.
